Day 0: you confirm and pay
The clock starts when payment lands, not when you first ask for a price. If you order on AliExpress yourself, that is the moment your card is charged. If you use a single-item service, it is the moment you pay the one rupee price, before anything ships. From this point the item is bought from the seller, usually the same day or the next working day in China. China is three hours ahead of Pakistan, so a payment made in the evening in Lahore is often actioned the next Chinese morning.
Days 1 to 3: the seller dispatches
Most rated sellers on 1688, Taobao and Alibaba dispatch in-stock items within 24 to 72 hours. Pre-order items, custom items and anything the listing describes as made to order take longer, sometimes 7 to 15 days before they even leave the seller. This is the stage that varies the most. A seller who is slow to dispatch adds days to every later stage. If you want to know the real timeline, ask about dispatch time before you pay.
Days 3 to 6: the parcel reaches the China warehouse
The seller ships by a domestic Chinese courier to the forwarder's warehouse, usually in Guangdong, Zhejiang or wherever the forwarder is based. Domestic delivery inside China is fast, commonly 1 to 3 days. At the warehouse the parcel is weighed, measured and matched to your order. It then waits for the next consolidated air shipment to Pakistan. Consolidation is why air freight is cheaper than courier: many single parcels share one shipment. The wait for the next shipment is usually a day or two, sometimes longer in busy weeks.
Days 6 to 9: the flight to Pakistan
The consolidated shipment is booked onto a flight to Karachi, Lahore or Islamabad. Flight time itself is a few hours, but cargo space is booked in advance and shipments sometimes wait for the next available flight. Transit through a hub can add a day. The flight is almost never the cause of a late delivery. If your tracking shows the parcel in China for a long time, the problem is upstream, at the seller or the warehouse.
Days 8 to 12: customs clearance at the airport
On arrival the shipment is manifested and a goods declaration is filed through WeBOC or the Pakistan Single Window. Customs assesses duty and taxes, sometimes examines the goods, and releases them once duty is paid. For a routine, correctly declared item this takes 1 to 4 working days. Days 10 to 15: local delivery
Once released, the parcel is handed to a domestic courier for delivery to your address. Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad addresses are usually delivered within 1 to 2 days of release. Smaller cities and towns add a day or two. Remote areas can add more. With a duty-paid service there is nothing to pay at the door, so the courier simply hands it over.

How can I shorten the timeline?
- Choose an in-stock listing. Avoid anything marked pre-sale or made to order unless you can wait.
- Give a complete address and a phone number that is answered. Failed delivery attempts add days.
- Avoid ordering in the two weeks before Chinese New Year.
- Pick an item that clears easily: unbranded, no loose battery, clear description.
