Every Chinese shopping app has a share button on the product page, usually an arrow or three-dots icon near the top right. Tap it, choose copy link (复制链接) or copy, and paste the result into WhatsApp. Taobao often produces a 淘口令 (Taobao code), a string of symbols and Chinese characters, which works just as well as a URL. If you cannot find a share option, a clear screenshot of the product page is an acceptable fallback.
Why do we need the link and not just a description?
A description like "the black wireless earbuds from that video" can match thousands of listings at very different prices and quality levels. A link points to one seller, one listing and one price ladder. From it we can see the exact variants, the seller's rating, whether a single piece is sold, the weight for shipping and the current price in RMB or USD. Without a link, any price we gave you would be a guess, and we do not quote on guesses. That is why the link is required before we send a price.
How do I copy a link from Taobao?
- Open the product in the Taobao app.
- Tap the share icon at the top right. It looks like an arrow leaving a box, or sits behind the three-dots menu.
- In the share sheet, choose 复制链接 (copy link) or 复制口令 (copy code). Either is fine.
- Paste it into WhatsApp. If you pasted a 淘口令, it will look like a jumble of symbols and Chinese text. That is normal. See the section below.
On the Taobao website, the browser address bar URL works, as long as it contains an item ID (the long number after "id=").
How do I copy a link from 1688?
- Open the product in the 1688 app.
- Tap the share icon at the top right, then 复制链接 (copy link) or 复制口令 (copy code).
- Paste into WhatsApp.
On 1688.com in a browser, copy the URL from the address bar. It usually starts with "detail.1688.com/offer/" followed by a number. That number is the offer ID and is all we need.
How do I copy a link from AliExpress, Alibaba.com and Temu?
- AliExpress app: tap the share arrow at the top right of the product page, then "Copy". The result is a short link beginning with a.aliexpress.com. On the website, copy the address bar URL.
- Alibaba.com app or site: tap or click the share icon and choose copy link. Browser URLs from the product page also work.
- Temu: tap the share icon on the product page and choose "Copy link". Temu share links often include a referral code, which does not matter to us. Temu does not deliver to Pakistan at the time of writing, so we use the link to find the same item from the Chinese source.
- Shein, Pinduoduo, Daraz, Amazon: all have a share or copy-link option on the product page. Send whatever it produces.

What is a Taobao code and why does it look strange?
A 淘口令 (tao kou ling, Taobao password or Taobao code) is Taobao's way of sharing a product through apps that block its links. It is a string made of a few Chinese characters, a short message, and a token wrapped in symbols such as ￥ or brackets. When someone pastes it into the Taobao app, the app recognises the token and opens the product. For you, it is just text to copy and paste into WhatsApp. Do not edit it, trim it or remove the symbols, because the token must stay intact. Codes can expire after a period, so if it is old and does not open, send a fresh one or a screenshot.
What if there is no share button?
Send screenshots. Two are ideal: one showing the whole product page with the title, main photo and price, and one showing the variant you want selected, such as colour or size, with the seller's name visible. From a screenshot we can usually find the listing with image search, as described in how to search Taobao and 1688 by image. It takes longer than a link and we may find a different seller of the same item, so a link is always preferred when you can get one.
What should I include with the link?
- The exact variant. Colour, size, model number, plug type, capacity or set contents. Many listings have ten or more options at different prices.
- Quantity. One. We handle one item per order and do not buy bulk or resale stock.
- Your city, so the delivery part of the price is right.
- Anything unusual about the item: a built-in battery, a liquid, a very large box or a brand name. These change the shipping route and we need to know before quoting.

Can I send a screenshot instead of a link?
Yes, as a fallback. Include the title, price, seller name and the variant you want. A link is faster and more accurate.
Do Temu links work for a quote even though Temu does not deliver to Pakistan?
