Chinese Brands Worth Buying Directly From China (And Fakes to Avoid)

By importfromchina.shop teamUpdated October 3, 20267 min read
Quick answer

The safe way to buy branded goods from China is to buy Chinese brands under their own names: Xiaomi, Anker, Ugreen, Baseus, Lenovo, Haylou, Soundcore, Redmi, Dreame, Roborock and many more. They are genuine, priced for the Chinese market and clear Pakistan Customs normally. Famous Western, Japanese or Korean brands at a fraction of retail on Chinese marketplaces are counterfeit and are seized. Buy from official brand stores on Tmall, JD or Taobao where possible.

What is the difference between a Chinese brand and a "branded" item from China?

This distinction decides whether your parcel arrives. A Chinese brand is a company that designs or markets products under its own name, sells them openly in China and often worldwide, and stands behind them. A "branded" item on a Chinese marketplace, meaning a Western, Japanese or Korean logo at a price far below retail, is a counterfeit. Pakistan Customs seizes counterfeits without compensation, and even if one slipped through you would own a fake with no support. The first group is a good import. The second is money lost.

Which Chinese brands do Pakistani buyers commonly import?

Availability and model ranges change constantly, so treat this as a starting list, not a catalogue:

  • Phones and ecosystem: Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO, Honor, OnePlus, Realme, Vivo, OPPO. Remember PTA registration and tax apply to every phone used in Pakistan.
  • Charging and cables: Anker, Ugreen, Baseus, Cuktech, Romoss. Note that power banks are restricted by air; chargers and cables are fine.
  • Audio: Soundcore (Anker), Haylou, Edifier, QCY, 1More, Moondrop, KZ, Tribit, Tronsmart.
  • Computing: Lenovo, Huawei, Honor, Xiaomi laptops; Keychron, Royal Kludge, Akko, Logitech-alternative keyboards from Chinese makers; Ugreen and Orico hubs and docks.
  • Home: Xiaomi and Mijia smart home, Dreame, Roborock, Deerma, Laifen hair dryers, Bear small appliances.
  • Wearables: Xiaomi Band, Amazfit (Zepp), Haylou, Huawei.
  • Cameras and action: DJI (not drones for Pakistan), Insta360, SmallRig, Ulanzi, Zhiyun, Hohem.
  • Outdoor and tools: Naturehike, Hoto, Xiaomi tool sets, Wowstick.
  • Music: Mooer, Joyo, NUX, Donner.

Many of these have a Pakistani presence through distributors or Daraz, often at a markup. Importing one unit makes sense when the model you want is not sold here or the local price is far above the Chinese price.

Where should I buy a Chinese brand to be sure it is genuine?

SourceGenuine?Notes
Brand's official store on Tmall or JDYesBest option; Chinese language, Chinese payment, ships within China only; an agent is needed
Brand's official store on TaobaoYesSame as above; check for the official store badge
Brand's official store on AliExpressYesShips to Pakistan slowly; duty on arrival; Pakistani cards sometimes work
Rated third-party sellers on Taobao or 1688Usually, for Chinese brandsCheck ratings and price; a price far below the official store is a warning
Any seller offering a Western brand at a fraction of retailNoCounterfeit; seized by customs

Tmall, JD and Taobao official stores are the gold standard, but they only ship within China and only accept Chinese payment. That is why Pakistani buyers use a sourcing service with a Chinese address and payment method. Read how to buy from Taobao in Pakistan.

How do I spot a counterfeit listing?

  • A Western, Japanese or Korean brand at a fraction of its known price.
  • Phrases such as "1:1", "original quality", "OEM version" or "high copy".
  • Logos blurred or cropped out of photos.
  • A generic seller with hundreds of unrelated brands.
  • The brand's own site shows no such model or colour.

If any of these apply, assume it is fake. Chinese customs and Pakistan Customs both act on counterfeits, and a sourcing service will not knowingly ship one. See what you cannot import from China to Pakistan.

Are Chinese domestic versions different from global versions?

Often, and this matters more than people expect. Xiaomi, Huawei and others sell China-market models with Chinese-language firmware, Chinese app stores and sometimes no Google services. Smart home devices may be locked to the Chinese server region. Chargers come with Chinese type A or I plugs, which need an adapter for Pakistani type C or D sockets. Voltage is 220V in both countries, so that part is fine. Before you buy, ask whether the listing is the global or Chinese version and whether the app works outside China.

Is a genuine Chinese brand cheaper from China than from Daraz?

Often, after duty, for mid and higher-value items where local distributors add a large margin, and almost always for models not sold here. For cheap accessories that many Daraz sellers carry, the local price can be close to the delivered import price. Compare the delivered rupee price with the local one before deciding. Daraz vs importing from China explains how.

How do I get a genuine Chinese-brand item delivered in Pakistan?

Send us the link to the official store listing, or the product name and model, on WhatsApp. Within 24 hours we send one price in rupees covering the item, air shipping, Pakistan customs and our fee, stated upfront. We buy from the official or rated seller, ship by air, clear customs and deliver to your door in 7 to 15 days after dispatch. You pay once, before it ships, with nothing to pay on delivery. One item per order, not resale stock. If it is a phone, we remind you about PTA before you pay.

Frequently asked questions

Are Xiaomi, Anker and Ugreen products from China genuine?

Yes, when bought from the brand's official store on Tmall, JD, Taobao or AliExpress, or from a rated seller at a normal price. A price far below the official store is a warning sign.

Can I import a Xiaomi phone from China to Pakistan?

You can, but every phone used in Pakistan must be registered with PTA and the tax paid after a grace period. Check the PTA tax for the model first and ask whether it is the global or China version.

Why are Western brands so cheap on Taobao and 1688?

Because they are counterfeit. Pakistan Customs seizes counterfeits. Buy Chinese brands under their own names instead.

Do Chinese brands have warranty in Pakistan?

Only if you buy through the Pakistani distributor. An item imported from China has no local warranty in practice.

Can I buy from Tmall or JD from Pakistan?

Not directly. They ship within China and accept Chinese payment only. A sourcing service with a Chinese address and payment method buys it for you.
